What Are Downloadable Audiobooks?

Downloadable audiobooks are similar to the audiobooks on CD or books on tape you've seen on your library's shelves. Instead of being recorded to a CD or cassette tape these audiobooks are digital. They are hosted on the OverDrive Website and downloaded directly to your computer.

Just like the audiobooks you checkout from the library, these audiobooks are borrowed by one person at a time for a limited period of time. The good news is you don't need to remember to return the digital audiobook -- after seven days, the audiobook is returned for the next person to borrow.

The digital audiobooks can be listened to on your computer or transferred to an audio player. Not every audio player will play all of the audiobook titles in our collection, nor can every audiobook be transferred to all types of computer.
